What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same, but the tasks below offer a glimpse of what to expect. If you don’t meet every point but believe you have the skills to succeed, we encourage you to apply.

  • Conduct regular site visits to assess property conditions, identify hazards, and report maintenance issues.
  • Carry out fire door inspections in compliance with fire safety regulations, documenting findings and necessary remedial actions.
  • Perform mid-term tenancy inspections, checking property condition, tenant compliance, and ensuring safety standards are upheld.
  • Complete health and safety inspections, including fire risk management, emergency lighting checks, and other compliance-related audits.
  • Identify, document, and escalate issues related to fire safety, security, damp/mould, and general property condition.
  • Liaise with contractors, property managers, and safety teams to ensure remedial actions are taken efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed reports and records for compliance tracking and audit purposes.
  • Provide clear recommendations for improvements and follow up on outstanding actions.
  • Assist with compliance documentation and regulatory reporting where necessary.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Previous experience in property inspections, fire safety assessments, or building compliance is desirable.
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations, building safety compliance, and lettings standards is an advantage.
  • Fire Door Inspection certification (or willingness to obtain it) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and report safety risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to multiple sites across an agreed region.
